14 more killed in Karachi

KARACHI: Fourteen more people including four policemen were shot dead on Tuesday in separate incidents of violence, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 25 December, 2012.

While Information Secretary of the Ahle Sunnat Wal-Jamaat (ASWJ), Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi, was injured when unidentified people riding four motorcycles sprayed the vehicle of Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi with bullets from automatic weapons near Moti Mahal in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, however, his driver, a private security guard and four policemen died.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of the ASWJ told Dispatch News Desk (DND) that an activist of the ASWJ was killed by the police near Kazmien Imambargah in Sector 11/E in the New Karachi Industrial Area police limits.

In another incident, two armed men riding a motorcycle had fired at the Imambargah. When the policemen posted at the Imambargah opened fire on them, they fled. As they were escaping, the deceased fell off the motorcycle and his skull was smashed which was the cause of his death.

Another two activists of the ASWJ were shot dead when unidentified people riding a motorcycle opened fire on them near Chamcha Hotel in Orangi Town. Likewise, a person was shot dead in Orangi Town.

One person was gunned down near Dawood Chowrangi in the Quaidabad police jurisdiction. While three other people were killed when unidentified people riding a motorcycle opened fire on them near Parking Plaza in New Preedy Street.
