10 militants killed in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel area

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: 10 more militants were killed when the security forces conducted a search operation in the restive North Waziristan tribal region on Thursday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the operation was carried out in the Dattakhel area of North Waziristan near the Pak-Afghan border.

Earlier, as a result of an intelligence-based operation in Spinkhwara located on the border between Bannu and North Waziristan agency, four militants including wanted terrorist alias Haji Gul was killed.

The ISPR said that Haji Gul was involved in many terrorist acts.

The armed forces continue to carry out their offensive ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in the tribal region since June 2014 following an attack on the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The military operation is being conducted against various banned militant organizations including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jundallah, al-Qaeda, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) and the Haqqani network.
