ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhary Wednesday said that Pakistan was facing two major challenges including terrorism and corruption as both have serious repercussion on society.

Addressing at a seminar on “Corruption: The Silent Killer of Social Values” organized by NAB, he said terrorism and corruption have strong nexus to support each other which needed to tackle with iron hands.

He said our Armed forces were actively involved in anti-terrorism drive while NAB was making strides to purge the country from corrupt people.

The Chairman said corruption was not only affecting socio-economic behavior but also harmful to development process of the country.

He said corruption has no boundaries and efforts were being made by global communities to minimize it.

Qamar Zaman said NAB launched various programmes to sensitize people to stop corruption.

He urged the people particularly youth to spread message of NAB “say no to corruption” in every corner of the country.

The Chairman expressed the hope that the people would soon get rid of this social evil.

He said prevention committees were set up in education, health and religious ministries to stop corruption.

Director General NAB Rawalpindi Region Attiq ur Rehman said, there was dire need to create awareness among the people about ills of corruption.

Professor Dr Ghulam Raza urged the youth to be a whistle blower against corruption as it could bring change in Pakistan.

Students of various colleges, universities and schools also deliver speeches to highlight ills of corruption.

Later, shields and certificates were distributed among the students.
