The tech giant Samsung has his foothold in mobiles but it is not that strong in the sales of laptops. This time Samsung managed to deliver something really good and top notch. Samsung just announced the Galaxy Book S, a device that looks to promise the best of both power and performance. The two biggest features in the all new Samsung book S and the new Qualcomm 8cx processor, and the 23-hour battery life.

Galaxy Book S price and release date

The Galaxy Book S is priced at $999 in the US, the global version of the book S will come out in September, though the details on pricing, or which carriers it will be releasing with outside of the US, is still not available.

Design, display and specifications

The Book S has a top-and-bottom aluminum frame. There are two USB-C ports, and neither are Thunderbolt, making this laptop dependent on dongles if you want to use any extra ports. Thankfully the 3.5mm headphone jack is still present. The keyboard is slim and it does not feel cheap. There’s a fingerprint sensor in the power button, located at the top-right of the keyboard.

It has a 13-inch display, however, is not very impressive with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, even the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 tablet sports a 2560 x 1600 screen. But the goof part is that it is a touchscreen. At the top of the display is the 720p HD camera.

The Galaxy Book S has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx, a 7nm 64-bit Octa-core chipset (2.84 GHz + 1.8 GHz) that claims to achieve i5-level performance. As far as the storage is concerned it has 8GB of RAM, and either 256GB of storage or 512GB. The best of all, you can expand this up to 1TB via the micro SD slot.
