HARIPUR, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Pakistan Digital City Special Technology Zone (STZ) in Haripur on Monday.

Costing Rs 1,300,000,000 and scattered over 86 kanals land, the Pakistan Digital City Haripur is a flagship project of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to provide all facilities to the IT industry at one place.

It will benefit allied industries like electronics, software houses, the mobile phone industry, technology incubators, and the computer industry in the province.

The Pakistan Digital City Haripur aims to serve as a state-of-the-art facility to enable collaborations and innovation amongst academia, research, industry, and planners from within the country and abroad.

In a statement, the Chairman Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) Amer Hashmi said that the Special Technology Zones (STZs) will leverage knowledge and innovation ecosystems to accelerate tech transformation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Amer Hashmi said that the STZs will focus on high-tech software and hardware development, creating and scaling-up innovative ventures, business process outsourcing, and provision of highly skilled services.

The Chairman STZA said that the focus domains include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, microelectronics, flexible and wearable devices, industry 4.0, intelligent transportation systems, and much more.

Amer Hashmi said that the STZA is committed to jointly working with all stakeholders to initiate STZs in all provinces of the Country to unleash the Country’s combined youth potential for a better tomorrow for Pakistan.
