ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Information Technology Board (NITB) will develop a Mobile Application “Corona App” as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic with the help of technology.

The app will be developed on the direction of the Federal Secretary at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, and it will have location-based services to detect Coronavirus patients through radius alert.

Moreover, public awareness videos, Chatbot for public and activity alarm for giving reminders for washing hands, using sanitizer, etc will be made available in the application.

Separately, the City Islamabad App will be used to monitor/complain against those Medical Stores where there is a shortage of masks or any sort of preventive medicine regarding the COVID-19. The strict action will be taken through the district administration once a complaint is received through the app.

The app will also be used to report social gathering.

The City Islamabad App will be used to book a Corona patient’s appointment in advance before the patient enters in designated hospitals. This will also help hospitals to make arrangements in advance.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
