TechnologyJazzCash Introduces QuickPay QR Solution for Mobile Account Customers

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: JazzCash, Jazz’s mobile money arm, has announced a QR funds transfer service for its mobile account customers.

After a successful pilot that was launched for the service a few months back, the service is now live for all customers.

Called JazzCash QuickPay, the new feature allows customers to use their JazzCash mobile accounts to make transfers by scanning a QR code on JazzCash App or by simply entering a QuickPay ID on the USSD menu. This payment mechanism, while ensuring security, eliminates several barriers for increasing usage of digital financial services, especially for frequent small ticket transactions by the masses. Customers do not need to remember lengthy account and transfer details, all they need to do is scan and pay.

“JazzCash has been in the forefront towards building a digital financial services ecosystem. We will continue to build more products and services which would encourage customers to not only register mobile accounts but also perform more frequent transactions digitally. This is a breakthrough in our aim to replace cash.” said Aniqa Afzal Sandhu, Chief Digital & Financial Services Officer – Jazz.

With JazzCash QuickPay – any JazzCash mobile account customer can receive instant payments through QuickPay QR code or an 8 digit QuickPay ID. Similarly, any mobile account customer can make payments by scanning the QR on JazzCash App or entering the 8-digit ID on the USSD menu. The service is currently being offered free of cost to both the sender and receiver. Customers who want to sign-up for receiving transfers through JazzCash QuickPay service can do so by visiting JazzCash website.

“JazzCash QuickPay is a step forward towards becoming a cashless economy. Previously, our mobile account customers had to withdraw hard cash for making small ticket transactions, with JazzCash QuickPay their need to do so will be reduced and will further encourage the use of mobile accounts for daily financial needs.” said Hassan Mahbub, Head of Mobile Accounts – JazzCash.

In addition to enabling payments for JazzCash’s own issued QR codes, JazzCash has also integrated with FonePay that has enabled Masterpass QR payments at thousands of merchants across Pakistan. JazzCash customers can simply scan the FonePay-Masterpass QR at any of these merchants, enter amount and their MPIN to make hassle free payments.
