TechnologyMobilink partners with QMobile to launch two Jazz X 3G smartphones

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mobilink and QMobile have entered into a mega partnership, which will see them release two new Jazz X Smartphones – JS-1 and JS-7.

Under this agreement, QMobile will not only manufacture more Jazz X handsets for Mobilink, but also become the brand’s official distributor across Pakistan.

The partnership is in line with Mobilink’s strategy of introducing affordable 3G Smartphones in the market to speed-up the uptake of high-speed mobile internet in a bid to reach its goal of a digitally enabled Pakistan.

Speaking about the need to partner with QMobile, Aamir Ibrahim, Deputy CEO & CCO – Mobilink, commented, “This partnership allows us to provide our customers with a streamlined set of solutions in order to facilitate their communication needs. QMobile’s expertise allows us to create a leading range of affordable smartphones, which meet market expectations.”

Muhammad Ali Khan, Head of Devices & Data – Mobilink, commented, “The common understanding is that with the availability of affordable smartphones offering better functionality, smartphone adoption and internet penetration will rise exponentially in the near future. This is the reason we decided to partner with QMobile, as we believe their understanding of the needs of today’s price sensitive consumer coupled with technical expertise can assist us in reaching our vision of a digital Pakistan.”

“Mobilink’s superior 3G services coupled with our 3G Smartphone manufacturing expertise provides us with a product range capable of disrupting the current affordable market trends. And the power of a brand like Jazz X allows us to venture in to those areas of the local market which have not experienced the benefits of a 3G Smartphone before,” added Zeeshan Akhter, CEO – QMobile.

“Jazz, as a brand, has a very rich history. Its re—launch gives Mobilink the edge in terms of recognition in low penetration areas, and the trust of consumers. Together with QMobile, Pakistan’s top selling mobile brand, it shall be able to enlarge its reach in the local mobile market, and look to bring online a significant proportion of the offline population,” stated Zeeshan Yousuf, Director – QMobile, on the power of the two brands.

These two Jazz X 3G Smartphones look to cater to different target markets through separate specifications. The Jazz X JS-1 comes with a dual SIM and is equipped with 1.0GHz MTK Quad-Core processor along with 8GB ROM/512MB RAM, which provides efficient processing without a lag. Display wise, the device has 4 inches capacitive touch screen which provides for quality images. It also carries a 2 MP rear and Smart front camera to allow for the capture of priceless moments.
