RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The father of Pakistani supermodel and actress Ayyan Ali who is currently in police custody on charges of money laundering, Raja Hafeez sustained injuries after he was shot by unknown gunmen in Gujar Khan on Saturday.

Ayyan Ali’s father was on his way in his car to attend the hearing of his daughter’s money-laundering case in Rawalpindi from Gujjar Khan when he was attacked by two unknown assailants on a motorcycle.

   

Raja Hafeez was shot in the shoulder and taken to Rawalpindi’s District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital and later to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he was reported to be out of danger.

Later talking to media, Ayyan’s father said that those who had been pressurizing and threatening him about the case against his daughter were involved in the assassination attempt. He further said that he was not being allowed to meet his daughter.

Ayyan Ali’s judicial remand extended for 14 days

Meanwhile, a customs court in Rawalpindi on Saturday extended the judicial remand of supermodel Ayyan Ali till April 11.

During the hearing presided by Justice Mumtaz Hussain Chaudhry, the customs officials requested the court an extension in Ayyan’s judicial remand following which the court extended her remand for 14 days.

The court ordered Ayyan’s appearance in the court on April 11.

The 21-year-old Ayyan was arrested on March 14 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Rawalpindi for attempting to fly out to Dubai with over $0.5 million.
