NEW DELHI: A three-member team of senior doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Saturday completed the autopsy on the body of Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of an Indian minister Shashi Tharoor, who was found dead in a luxury hotel last night days after accusing her husband on Twitter of being unfaithful.

Following the autopsy, Shashi Tharoor was handed over the body of her wife whose last rites are likely to be conducted at the Lodhi Road crematorium later on Saturday evening.

The Indian media citing sources reported that some of Pushkar’s family members including her brother and son Shiv Menon visited the AIIMS where the autopsy was conducted.

The 52-year-old Pushka was found dead in room number 345 of five-star Leela hotel in Capital’s Chanakyapuri on Friday night. She is believed to have committed suicide by consuming an overdose of sleeping pills, though the police are still investigating the death.
