According to local authorities in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, clashes in southern Helmand provinces have spread to three other districts as around 800 Taliban have taken part in the battle against the Afghan security forces in Sangin, Nawzad, Mosa Qala and Kajaki districts.

Helmand Helmand: On-going battled between Afghan Taliban and security forces has caused the death of around 35 civilians and 22 Afghan soldiers but both sides are not ready to confirm the exact number of causalities during battle that started on June 19. Taliban are tight lipped to confirm civilian death in this battle.

Omar Zwak the spokesman of Provincial governor while talking to Tajik radio confirmed that the clashes are still going on between the two sides in Sangin district and 35 civilians have been killed and over 40 others have been injured so far. He claimed that at least 50 Taliban were also killed during the clashes while 9 Afghan soldiers and 13 policemen were martyred. While Taliban have not commented over reports
