SportsSt Moritz Ice Cricket 2018: Shahid Afridi pays respect to Indian flag

World renowned former Pakistani Cricketer Shahid Afridi earned enormous appreciation especially from his Indian fans after the flamboyant all-rounder paid respect to the Indian flag in Switzerland wherein he was Captaining Royals XI Team in St. Moritz Ice Cricket 2018.

Shahid Afridi was signing autographs and taking selfies with fans among the spectators outside the boundary line but as one Indian lady spectator requested him for a selfie, he asked her to at first straighten the Indian flag.

“Ye flag seedha karo na”, Shahid Afridi said to the Indian lady holding the half-wrapped Indian flag.

Meanwhile, the former Pakistani all-rounder – more famous for his aggressive batting approach – went to other spectators as well and fulfilled their requests.

Afridi along with his former Pakistani team mates Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq was in St. Moritz for two T20 matches played February 8 and 9 on Ice.

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi’s Royals clinched the series by beating Virender Sehwag’s Diamonds XI in both T20s.

Apart from Pakistani Cricketers and Virender Sehwag, other former Cricketers from around the World including Jacques Kallis, Andrew Symonds, Daniel Vettori, Graeme Smith, Micheal Hussey, Grant Elliott, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Ramesh Powar, Nathan McCullum, Lasith Malinga, Owais Shah, Monty Panesar, Mahela Jayawardene, Matt Prior, Aiden Andrews, Mithun Manhas, Zaheer Khan, Muhammad Kaif, Ajit Agarkar and Rohan Jain also took part in Ice Cricket.
