KARACHI, Pakistan: Two days after Pakistan Test Captain Misbah-ul-Haq announced his retirement from International Cricket, the veteran Batsman Younis Khan also announced to retire following the step of his fellow Cricketer.

The 39-year old Younis Khan announced the retirement on Saturday in a Press Conference in Karachi, saying the upcoming Test series against West Indies would be his last.

While announcing his retirement, Younis Khan asked his fans to ignore any mistakes, if he committed ever. He also urged people to respect his decision of retirement.

Younis Khan began his International Career on February 23, 2000 with a One Day International (ODI) in Karachi against Sri Lanka in which he scored 46 runs.

The record holding batsman Younis Khan has scored 9,977 runs in 115 Test matches, the highest score by any Pakistani batsmen in the format. His individual highest score in Test Cricket has been 313 runs. Likewise with 34 Centuries, Younis Khan is at the top among Pakistani batsmen in terms of highest number of Test Centuries.

Younis Khan has already retired from ODIs and T20 Internationals.

In his Captaincy, Pakistan won the T20 World Cup in England in 2009.

In 265 ODIs, Younis Khan scored 7,249 with an average of 31.24. His ODIs record included 7 Centuries and 48 Fifties.

Earlier on April 6, the 42-year-old Misbah-ul-Haq also announced to retire from International Cricket following the West Indies Series.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan paid tributes to Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan, and said that a special ceremony would be organized in honour of both the Cricketers.
