ADELAIDE: The third quarter final of the 11th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup will be played between Pakistan and Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.
The all important knockout game will begin at 8:30 am PST.
Pakistan will more heavily be relying on their fast bowlers including Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Rahat Ali and Ahsan Adil who will mostly likely be in the squad after Muhammad Irfan is no more available due to an injury.
Misbah-ul-Haq-led national side did not begin their world cup campaign very well as they lost both their opening matches against India and West Indies. However, in their last four games, the green shirts bounced back and won all the matches.
Pakistan and Australia have faced each other eight times in ICC mega cricket event, and both sides won four games each. Last time, they played against each other in Colombo during a 2011 World Cup encounter which Pakistan won by four wickets.
Whosoever win the Friday’s encounter in Adelaide, will face India in the second semi final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on March 26.
