LAHORE, Pakistan: Social activist, entrepreneur and renowned philanthropist hailing from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ms. Azra Ahmad has been appointed as Manager Operations for Pakistan Blind Sports Federation (PBSF).
PBSF is a registered non-profit sports federation in Pakistan working to promote sports for the blind people.
It is registered with the International Blinds Sports Federation (IBSF), Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), National Paralympic Committee of Pakistan (NPC), and Pakistan Paralympics.
Regarding this new appointment, the PBSF President Chaudhry Muhammad Waqas Warraich said, “The addition of Ms. Azra to our team is a great achievement for the federation, she brings with herself a vast experience and vision that is imperative for infusing life into the federation”.
Expressing her views on this appointment, Ms. Azra said, “I am really thankful to the management committee for entrusting me with this great task. During my tenure, it’s my top priority to take the federation to new heights and help it make a name for itself internationally”.
The blind cricket team expressed happiness on this appointment as they were of the view that having such an experienced and dynamic personality as the Manager Operations would not only help elevate status of the team but also help in boosting the players’ morale, as their voices would now be heard on the Federal level, and their issues would be resolved on a priority basis.
On this occasion, the blind cricketers also made an appeal to the government to protect their rights and support them via sponsorship for upcoming international events.
It is pertinent to mention that Ms. Azra herself is a sports lover and it’s her passion to promote sports, especially for disabled people.
