COLOMBO: Sri Lanka are most likely to level the three-match Test series against Pakistan unless rain does not come on Monday at the P Sara Oval in Colombo as it caused a loss of an entire last session yesturday.

Pakistan had a good start in their second innings after Sri Lanka took a lead of 177 runs in response to Pakistan’s first innings 138 runs, as the green shirts had scored 202 runs for the loss of only two wickets on the fourth day of the second Test match. But then they started losing wickets consecutively and were all out at 329 runs.

Pakistan lost their last eight wickets for just 131 runs. The middle-order batsman Azhar Ali made a century while Ahmed Shahzad remained the second top scorer for Pakistan with 69 runs.

Sri Lanka’s KTGD Prasad and PVD Chameera picked up 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

The Sri Lankans could not come out to bat in their second innings because rain had arrived so the officials had to call off the game till Monday morning.

Pakistan are already leading the series 1-0 but since Sri Lanka have an easy 152-run target to chase and they have an entire day, they are likely to level the series. However, they must be praying that rain doesn’t deprive them tomorrow of winning the second Test match or if Pakistan’s bowling performance turns out to be spectacular.
