DUBAI, UAE: No one probably had thought that Dubai Test would become as much exciting as it has now after Pakistan was all out for only 123 in second innings, making West Indies feel for a strong chance to win the first match.

Unlike the first innings in which Pakistan completely dominated and scored 579 runs for loss of only 3 wickets, in second innings, Pakistan was bowled out in just 31.5 overs for 123 on Sunday.

The triple-Century scorer Azhar Ali also fell early for only 2 runs but his partner Sami Aslam remained the highest scorer in Pakistan’s second innings with 44 runs.

West Indies’ leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo bowled exceptionally well and took 8 wickets in the innings.

When West Indies began its second innings, it also lost 2 wickets for 95 till stumps. Muhammad Amir took both the wickets.

Earlier West Indies was all out for 357 runs in first innings which witnessed Yasir Shah completing his 100th Test wickets with fresh 5-wicket haul. However, Pakistan didn’t enforce the follow-on and opted to bat again.

Today, West Indies requires 251 runs with 8 wickets in hand to win the first Test of three-match series against Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium.

It’s Pakistan’s first Test which is being played under floodlights, and in which a pink is being used. It is also Pakistan’s 400th Test match since it began its Test journey with a match in Delhi against India in 1952. Since then, Pakistan succeeded in 128 matches, suffered defeats in 113 while 158 matches ended without yielding any result.

Pakistan landed in United Arab Emirates (UAE) as No 1 Test team in ICC rankings; however, the title was reclaimed by India following a Test series win against New Zealand.
