Pakistan registers comfortable win against West Indies in 1st T20
DUBAI, UAE: Pakistan will face World Champions West Indies in first T20 International of three match series at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday night.
Like one day internationals (ODIs), Pakistan’s performance in 20-over format has not been worth praising as well for quite time, mainly because of old-style approached in limited overs game. In 2016, Pakistan succeed in seven matches out of 12; that’s why, currently Pakistan stands at 7th place in ICC T20 rankings.
However, the two times World Champions in T20 West Indies has much better record in T20s as compared to Pakistan. Possessing third position in ICC T20 rankings at the moment, West Indies faced defeat in only one match out of eight, it has played so far during the current year.
Though Chris Gayle and Andre Russell are not part of West Indies’ squad but yet the Caribbean side is blessed with enough hard-hitting players like Evin Lewis, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo etc. On the other hand, the experienced Umar Akmal, who played brilliantly in recent National T20 Cup in Pakistan, has been recalled.
The two teams will meet against on Saturday night at the same venue for second T20 while the third T20 will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 27.
