SportsPSL to serve Pakistan cricket: Ramiz Raja

LAHORE, Pakistan: The brand ambassador of Pakistan Super League (PSL), former Pakistan captain, Ramiz Raja said on Monday that with the completion of different phases for the holding of PSL all the doubts have been dispelled.

“That stage is not far when the PSL will be organized in a befitting manner in UAE in February next year”, he told media here at National cricket academy after PSL players draft ceremony.

Ramiz said the PSL will serve the Pakistan in a great way besides elevating the soft image of the country at a off shore venue.

“Healthy competition was seen during players draft who have drawn in five different teams of the league and all the franchisers have mostly selected the best available young talent”, he said adding “Those who could not be selected should not be feeling disappointed and work hard to live up to the expectations of the franchisers”.

He pointed out that owing of ongoing series between different cricket playing countries, some players could not be able to be a part of players draft but the presence of young Pakistani players in different teams indicates their bright prospects in the game, provided they put in more efforts with hard work.

“The league is a great way of the learning for our young players who will be earning handsome money besides gaining the much needed experience to enhance their experience besides showcasing their potentialities”, said the former test cricketer.

Ramiz said the first edition of the PSL being played in UAE is a good beginning and in years to come efforts would be made to stage it in Pakistan to reap more dividends.
