Porsche Centre Lahore sponsors national polo open for Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2014

LAHORE: Porsche Centre Lahore, announced their patronage of Pakistan’s most prestigious tournament, the ‘Porsche National Polo Open’ for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2014 at an exclusive press conference held at the Lahore Polo Club.

The Porsche National Polo Open will be held at the Lahore Polo Club from the 4th till 16th of March 2014 and will be contested between six teams comprising of a selection of some of Pakistan’s most coveted national talent along with international polo players.

The press conference was addressed by the President of the Lahore Polo Club, Mr Abdul Haye Mehta, who said: “It’s heartening to see that the sport of polo is rapidly gaining recognition in Pakistan, where it has never received the level of attention as other sports played locally. The private sector has played a monumental role is helping us hold the National Polo Open year after year to resounding success, which is why it is now widely regarded as one of the Sub-continent’s most prestigious high-goal tournaments. This year we have the pleasure of collaborating with Porsche Centre Lahore on our annual tournament and are truly grateful for their patronage and support. We have no doubt that the Porsche National Polo Open 2014 this year will be the best one yet”.

Ansa Hasan, Marketing Manager at the Porsche Centre Lahore also addressed the conference mentioning how the Porsche National Polo Open underlines the company’s commitment to continuously support the local sporting culture and develop strong links with a game highly popular among Porsche customers. She further elaborated how Porsche Centre Lahore will also be staging a diversity of planned actives throughout the tournament, which will be crowned with the exclusive local unveiling of the world’s first sports car in the compact SUV segment, the all-new Porsche Macan. Ms Hasan then signed a corporate contract with Umut Aydoğan of Turkish Airlines giving benefits of Turkish Airlines’ advantageous Frequent Flyer Programme, Miles&Smiles to Porsche family and staff.

Speaking on the association between the Porsche Centre Lahore and the Lahore Polo Club, Abuzar Bokhari, CEO of Porsche Centre Lahore, said: “We are very excited to confirm our support in the local sporting culture with our sponsorship of this year’s event.” He added: “Porsche Centre Lahore has a growing number of customers who are enthusiastic polo players or followers of the sport, and we are delighted to use this opportunity to celebrate the local premiere of the all-new Macan at this prestigious event. This launch marks the company’s pioneering move into a new segment, following in the footsteps of the brand‘s most successful model in the luxury SUV range, the Cayenne”.

Poised to set new standards in driving dynamics and enjoyment, both on and off the road, the new Macan boasts the typical sporty handling characteristics that have become synonymous with the Porsche brand. Many of the design and performance elements have been inspired by Porsche sports cars, including the iconic 911 and the revolutionary 918 Spyder, making it clear that the compact SUV heralds the first of its kind.
