LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that its medical team has been monitoring the status of Naseem Shah’s shoulder injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2023.PCB's statement on Naseem Shah's injury

The fast bowler Naseem Shah walked off in the middle of the 46th over during the match against India on September 11 on the reserve day organised for that game, and was ruled out of the tournament soon after.

In a statement on Saturday, the PCB said that medical consultations with the experts are underway to provide the best possible care to Naseem.

“The PCB Medical Panel will decide on the fast bowler’s return to cricket based on further assessments,” it said.

Meanwhile, according to the espncricinfo, Naseem Shah is likely to miss the entire World Cup 2023 to be played in India after scans revealed an injury to his right shoulder that is worse than was initially suspected.

It said that the PCB is understood to be seeking a second opinion but scans from tests in Dubai appear to show the injury could rule him out for the rest of year.
