PCB slammed for omitting Imran Khan from 1992 World Cup victory

SportsPCB slammed for omitting Imran Khan from 1992 World Cup victory

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) faced a severe backlash from experts and fans on Monday when it released a 2.21-minute short documentary on 76th Independence Day featuring Pakistan’s achievements in the game but it omitted the Country’s greatest ever Captain and 1992 World Cup Winner Imran Khan from the video.

Enriched with abundance of talent, Pakistan owns a glorious legacy in cricket as from 1952 first ever Test victory against India to 2017 ICC Champions Trophy title, the Country has bagged numerous successes.PCB slammed for omitting Imran Khan from 1992 World Cup victory

When it comes to ICC Cricket World, Pakistan sealed the title just once in 1992 under the captaincy of Imran Khan. However, in its video, the PCB – which now is run by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) nominee Zaka Ashraf – seems to have intentionally erased him, an evident of the fact how even the cricketing body has badly been politicized or being influenced for vested interests.

Reacting to the PCB’s disgraceful and biased treatment of Iman Khan – who is currently imprisoned in Attock Jail – cricket experts and fans lambasted the premier cricket governing body in the Country for operating at such a low level.
