ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s professional footballer Shahlyla Baloch passed away in a tragic car accident late Wednesday night in Karachi.

Shahlyla Baloch will be buried in her hometown Kalat.

Sources said that Shahlyla Baloch was travelling in a Toyota Corolla car along with her friends but on the way, as their car reached ‘Do Darya’ it met an accident. Resultantly, Shahlyla suffered serious injuries and rushed to a private hospital; however, she succumbed to her injuries.

A striker for Pakistan’s Women’s Football team, Shahlyla played for the club Balochistan United and the national team as well.

Dubbed as the first female to score a hat-trick at the international level, she was a mere 20 years old at the time of her demise.

Her sister Raheela Zarmain is associated with the football team as a manager. He mother Senator Rubina Irfan has been the chairperson of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Women’s Wing while her father has also been a provincial minister.

Shahlyla Baloch’s death has left many in shock, as people pour in to social media to express their grief.
