With a 1-0 lead, the formidable Pakistan will be up against West Indies again at National Stadium Karachi on Tuesday evening for the second T20I and looking for another series victory against the visitors in the shortest format of the game.

Batting first, Pakistan put a mammoth target of 201 runs for the visitors to chase in 20 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan continued his brilliant form with the bat and scored 78 runs. However, his opening partner Babar Azam was caught behind off Akeal Hosein for 0.

The ICC toped ranked batsmen in T20 Babar Azam’s last fifty came against Scotland in Sharjah on November 7, 2021, and his five innings afterward have seen 39, 7, 1, 19, and 0 score respectively.

Haider Ali with 68 runs and Mohammad Nawaz with 30 off just 10 balls also contributed immensely with the bat.

In the end, Pakistan scored 200 for 6 in 20 overs. From West Indies, Romario Shepherd sealed 2 wickets while Akeal Hosein, Oshane Thomas, Dominic Drakes, and Odean Smith took 1 wicket each.

Later in the pursuit of 201 runs target, West Indies were bowled out for 137 runs in 19 overs with Shai Hope as the leading scorer. He scored 31 runs.

In the bowling, Mohammad Wasim picked up 4 wickets and Shadab Khan 3 while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz, and Haris Rauf also bagged 1 wicket each.

It was the 35th time when Pakistan bowled out the opponents in T20Is, the most by any team.

With clinching the 18th T20I victory in 2021, Pakistan also broke their own world record of registering the most T20I wins in a calendar year. Previously, Pakistan has won 17 T20 Internationals in 2018.
