BRISBANE, Australia: Pakistan’s Captain Misbah-ul-Haq has shown his intentions of making his team the first Asian side to win a Test series against Australia on their home soil.

In a statement, Misbah said Australia is a lethal team on their home grounds and it is not easy to beat them, but Pakistan team is fully capable of creating history by upsetting them.

“The team is focused and ready to come back on victory track as defeat against New Zealand is water under the bridge now”, he added.

Misbah-ul-Haq said that although Pakistani batsmen, particularly the middle order struggled against Australia XI in the sole practice match that was played in Cairns but players have now completely adjusted with the conditions.

“Players like Younus Khan, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed and he himself have to take responsibility and score runs”, he continued.

Talking about the soft spots of Australia team, Misbah-ul-Haq said that there are some inexperienced players in their side and we will try to take advantage of their weaknesses.

He also said that team Australia has lost a series against South Africa recently, and the pressure of that loss will surely be on them.

Misbah-ul-Haq said that it will be a bowlers versus bowlers match in which Yasir Shah from Pakistan will play a key role. He also mentioned that Pakistan batsmen have to be careful of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

The first of three Test matches will start from tomorrow.
