THE OVAL: India beat West Indies by eight wickets in a match of the Champions Trophy at The Oval on Tuesday, Indian’s victory also put Pakistan out of semis race.

Batting first‚ West Indies scored 233 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs, RA Jadeja picked five wickets.

India’s solid top-order ensured it was smooth sailing; S Dhawan’s unbeaten hundred and Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthink’s fifties saw India achieving the 234 in 39.1 overs.

By winning both their games‚ India is on top of Group B with four points and has booked its place in the semi-finals. South Africa-West Indies game on June 15 will be a knock-out contest.

Pakistan‚ on the other hand‚ have crashed out of the race for semis‚ losing both their games against WI and SA.

Pakistan meet India on June 15 in the group’s last match before play-offs.
