Pakistan’s right-handed middle-order batsman Babar Azam has become number one batsman in ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings after his brilliant performance with the bat in three-match T20I series against Australia.Babar Azam becomes number one batsman in ICC T20 Rankings

The 24-year-old Babar Azam scored 163 runs in his three T20I innings against Australia in UAE, which also entitled him to earn ‘Player of the Series’ award. His score three-match T20 series remained 68, 45 and 50 whereas in 2018, Babar Azam in his nine T20I innings has scored 437 runs.

Overall Babar Azam has scored 905 runs in 23 T20I innings with an average of 56.56.

Even in ODIs, Babar Azam possesses an excellent batting average of 51.92, and stands at number six in ICC ODIs Rankings.

Meanwhile, Pakistan retained its 15-member T20 Squad that played against Australia for the upcoming three-match T-20I series against New Zealand in UAE.

The three-match T20I series against New Zealand will commence from October 31 in Abu Dhabi. The remaining two matches of the series will be played in Dubai on November 2 and 4 respectively.

Earlier last night, Pakistan beat Australia by 33 runs in third and last T20I at Dubai.

While batting first, Pakistan set a victory target of 151 runs for Australia. In reply, Australia was all out for 117 runs in 19.1 overs.

It was Pakistan’s first-ever whitewash against Australia in a limited-over series and their 10th series win under Sarfraz Ahmed since he took over as the Captain.
