Ali Khan Tareen, the Son of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Jahangir Khan Tareen, has won the franchise rights for the PSL Sixth Team.

Ali Tareen paid $5.2 million (approximately Rs 720 million) for the PSL Sixth Team now named as Multan Consortium, and won the rights for seven years.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ali Tareen in a twitter message said that he had submitted the bid to acquire the franchise rights of the PSL Sixth Team and would try his best to retain the PSL team in South Punjab.

Besides Multan Consortium, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, and Peshawar Zalmi are vying for the title in the PSL 2019 to be held next year from February 14 to March 17.

Last year, it was Multan Sultans owned by Schon Properties which participated in PSL 2018 as the Sixth Team of Pakistan Super League (PSL); however later following some financial issues, its franchise rights were terminated by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
