ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that the government is paying special focus to increase exports of Information Technology (IT).

In his address at an event in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that in 2018, the exports of the IT Sector were worth US$ 800 million and a significant increase is being witnessed in this regard.

   

The state minister said that the youth can start their own business with new ideas and avail upto Rs one million loan from banks under the Kamyab Jawan Program.

Farrukh Habib aid that the youth can also get benefits of loan upto Rs 25 million through another slab.

The minister said that an investment of over US$ 300 million has been made in the startups program. He said that under the stipend program, 200,000 deserving students have so far been provided educational stipends.

Furthermore, he said that special incentives are also being provided to the Construction Sector and allocation of Rs 1,000 billion has been approved for this purpose while approval of Rs 100 billion has also been accorded for the construction of low-cost homes.

The minister of state also said that under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are being established across the Country. He said that the Country is facing many economic challenges but the government is fighting with these hurdles through an effective strategy.
