RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistani troops killed five Indian soldiers and injury many others in an exchange of fire at Tatta Pani along the Line of Control (LoC), the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the IPSR said that the exchange of fire followed the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian troops at Tatta Pani along the LoC.

The ISPR said that Pakistani troops violently responded to Indian unprovoked firing. It said that in the exchange of fire, five Indian soldiers were killed and many injured.

In addition, the ISPR said that Indian bunkers were also destroyed in the retaliatory firing by Pakistani troops.

The cross border firing by the Indian troops have become a routine matter now for quite some time which have also resulted in civilians casualties.

Last Thursday, the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh was summoned at the Foreign Office and conveyed to the Indian government via him that targeting civilians at the border must be avoided and also implementation of 2003 ceasefire understanding must be ensured.

The summons was issued to register Pakistan’s protest over the martyrdom of two civilians and injuries to five others as a result of Indian forces unprovoked firing in Battal, Jandrot and Kotli Sectors.
