ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that Pakistan army shall take all measures to protect innocent civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) from Indian firing deliberately targeting them.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said that CFVs are being & shall always be effectively responded.

The incidents of ceasefire violations by the Indian Occupation Forces have intensified in recent days, and as per the ISPR, five innocent civilians including two women have been martyred whereas 27 further have suffered injuries as a result of Indian firing in various Sectors along the LoC within last 10 days.

In response to Indian firing along the LoC, Pakistan army have always reacted in a befitting manner and inflicted huge losses to the Indian army.

The Foreign Office has also multiple times raised the issue with the Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and registered its protest with him over the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the LoC.

The Foreign Office has constantly urged the India to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement, investigate ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

However, the unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India has been continuing since 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations.
