Nawaz, Ghani discuss Pak-Afghan ties

KABAUL, Afghanistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai held one-on-one meeting at the Presidential Palace in Kabul on Tuesday and discussed matters of mutual interests and bilateral ties.

Later, the delegation level talks were held in which the Pakistani premier and the Afghan president led their respective sides.

The prime minister was accompanied by Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and senior officials.

Earlier in the day, a high-level Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached Kabul for one-day official visit at the invitation of the Afghan president.

Upon the arrival in Kabul, the Afghan Foreign Minister Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani and Minister of Finance Eklil Hakimi received the Pakistani delegation.
