NEW DELHI, India: Not only India remains adamant against abating its human rights violations in the Occupied Kashmir; rather, its tyranny has peaked to a level that now even intimidation tactics have also been put in place to suppress voices from within the Country, unearthing Occupational Forces’ atrocities in the besieged Valley.

Among those rare voices is Shehla Rashid, an Indian political activist and Ph.D. Scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

The 31-year-old Shehla Rashid has recently been a stern critic of India’s approach towards Kashmiris especially after the New Delhi authorities repealed Jammu and Kashmiri’s autonomous status on August 5.

Shehla Rashid also accused the Indian army of subjecting innocent Kashmiris to torture, conducting raids, and disappearing Kashmiri youth. She also claimed to have an evidence of Indian army’s inhuman and illegal acts.

However, the Indian army dismissed her claims, and termed them “baseless” and “unverified”.

But in the meantime, the Delhi Police lodged an FIR for sedition against Shehla Rashid over her allegations on human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. The FIR against her was lodged under Sections 124-A, 153A, 153, 504, 505 of the Indian Penal Code.

The normal life in the Indian Occupied Kashmir remains crippled with humanitarian crisis aggravating with each passing day as the strict curfew and communication blackout imposed by the Indian authorities entered 32nd day today.
