South AsiaIndia targeting Kashmiris' religious and cultural identity: Gilani

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India, under a planned manner, was trying to eliminate the Kashmiris’ religious and cultural identity to suppress their ongoing freedom movement.

Syed Ali Gilani, addressing a Seerat Conference in Hyderpora area of Srinagar said that New Delhi was luring the Kashmiri youth towards drug abuses and immorality to divert their attention from the freedom struggle, Kashmir Media Service reported.

He said that Indian army was involved in hundreds of gang rape cases in occupied Kashmir.

The veteran leader termed the ban in the territory on literature of Syed Qutub Shaheed and Moulana Syed Abu Alla Maudoodi as unfair.

“The pen should be answered with the pen and the people who are dreaming of defeating the pen with the force and gun are living in the fool’s paradise and they will never succeed in their designs,” he stated.
