ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government is making all out efforts to increase employment opportunities for women across the country.

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights, Humera Azam Khan said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is taking keen interest in the progress of women and for this, steps are being taken to provide better working environment to the women in all sectors.

Talking to media, she said that no progress could be made without the active participation of women.

She urged the women belonging to any segment of society to come forward and play role in any field so that development could be made in a befitting manner.

10 percent job quota allocated for women is strictly being followed, she said.

She said that there is need to invite the educated and experienced women in different disciplines in the policy making matters.

She said that change could be made at grassroots level if women extend expertise and contribute in the policy making matters.

Humera Azam Khan said that the government is taking all important steps to provide due rights of women hailing from any parts of the country.

To a question, she said that women empowerment package would be introduced soon to achieve prosperity for the people of this country.

Meanwhile, a walk was organized by Ministry of Human Rights on National Day of Working Women, started from China Chowk and culminated at D-Chowk.

The civil society including professors, doctors, teachers, lawyers besides school children also participated in the walk to highlight the due rights of women at work places.
