ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has asked provincial governments to devise mechanism for introducing uniform Prayer, Azan (Call for Prayers) timing system in their respective areas before Ramzan-ul-Mubarak.
According to official sources, the uniform Prayers and Azan (Call for Prayers) timing system would be introduced across the country from Ramzan-ul-Mubarak.
The stake holders have been asked to forward recommendations for fixing Sehar and Iftar system in consultation with Ulema.
Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony was working hard to evolve consensus among all stake holders for implementing uniform prayer system across the country.
The people of all sects will offer prayers as well as Azan at same time. The provincial governments of Balochistan and Punjab have already agreed to implement uniform prayer system in their respective jurisdiction.
The ministry has published a special prayer timing calendar to promote unity, discipline and harmony among the nation.
The winter-summer time-table for Azan and Jamaat (prayers) was prepared in consultation with Met Office and Ulema promoting uniformity and Islamic unity.
