Two-day Children's Literature Festival underway at Children Library Complex LahoreLAHORE, Pakistan: The two-day annual Children’s Literature Festival began at the Children Library Complex (CLC) in Lahore on Tuesday, aimed at to inculcate the culture of reading & self-expression in children while incorporating modern ICT techniques in teaching.

The Minister for Higher Education Punjab Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz inaugurated the Children’s Literature Festival in Collaboration with the Children Library Complex.

The two-day festival with theme of “Heritage, Expression & 21st Century Skills” aims to address the challenges of learning, reviving a culture of reading & generating content for supplementary materials. The festival also looks to promote the 21st Century skills.

The festival is being attended by a large number of students and teachers of both public & private schools from across the Punjab province. The festival has also attracted parents, academics, educationists and public alike.

Numerous organizations and institutions have set up pavilions catering to sub-sets of the main theme; mainly reading, interactive sessions, mobile library, digital storytelling, museum workshop, painting, robotics, theater, puppet show and more.

While addressing on the occasion, the Minister for Higher Education felicitated the CLC & School Education Department (SED) for holding the festival with organizing partners. He stressed on the need of inculcating a culture of reading & self-expression in the children.

The minister also reflected that several reforms are being undertaken by the Punjab government and SED to transform the school education in the province with emphasis on a culture of performance and improved learning outcomes.
