ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Two non-Muslim Chinese Students of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) have converted to Islam.

The conversation was carried out in a Spiritual Ceremony held at IIUI, wherein the President of the University Dr. Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh made the Chinese students read ‘Kulma’.

One of the Students, who embraced Islam, is a female whose name was LivXia but that has now been renamed as Maryam. She is the Student of MA Education, and currently is in third Semester. Maryam belongs to the Chinese Province – Anhui.

Maryam’s (or ex-name LivXia) husband Abdullah was also a Student of IIUI, and he also converted to Islam from Buddhism while studying at the University.

The Second Student is Zhang Zhen Hao whose name is now Muhammad following the conversion. Muhammad is reportedly the close relative of Abdullah, the Husband of Maryam.

The Vice President (Administration, Finance, and Planning) at IIUI Dr. Muhammad Munir, the Vice President (Academics) at IIUI Dr. Bashir Khan, Deans, Directors, and other officials also attended the Conversion Ceremony.

While expressing her views, the newly-converted Muslim Maryam (LivXia) said that she was feeling peace and calmness after embracing Islam.

In his address, the IIUI president shed lights on attributes of Islam, and also prayed for peace and security of new Muslims. The IIUI president also presented gifts to them.
