SocialPM Khaqan approves Bhara Kahu Bypass

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Hopes have once again been rejuvenated as construction work of the long-awaited Bhara Kahu Bypass is likely to begin anytime soon following the fresh approval of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

The Bhara Kahu Bypass will be built from Shahdara Morr to Satra Meel, and the project will cost Rs 2 billion.

The State Minister for Capital Administration and Development (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry recently held a meeting with the prime minister and sought his consent for Bhara Kahu Bypass.

The prime minister approved the project to keep smooth flow of traffic and build a separate way connecting Murree, and also issued directives to initiative the construction work soon.

The residents of Bhara Kahu had long been demanding a Flyover or a Bypass to cater to the traffic which continued to upsurge as daily thousands of people travelled to Murree and northern areas via Murree Road.

Last year the CADD Minister visited Bhara Kahu and announced that the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would visit the area soon to inaugurate the Bypass. However, he admitted that the feasibility study was yet being carried out regarding the possible routes of Bypass.

Meanwhile, one pedestrian crossing was built at Athal Chowk in Bhara Kahu and roads were expanded by yet the traffic issue remained unresolved.
