PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Peshawar Cultural Heritage Trail and Food Street is now open for the public after its construction worth Rs 301.5 million was completed.

The newly constructed Cultural Heritage Trail in Peshawar starts from Ghanta Ghar to Gor Gathri, and has a total length of 500 meters.

The former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak had inaugurated the project on December 7 last year. Under the project, a number of heritage buildings were renovated or reconstructed along with other beatification work.

A Food Street was also established as part of the trail.

Talking to media after opening the newly constructed Cultural Heritage Trail in Peshawar on Monday, Pervez Khattak said it had been completed in a record time by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial government.

Pervez Khattak said another promise made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government with the people had been fulfilled. He said efforts were made to facelift Peshawar to make it clean and green for dwellers and tourists.

Earlier when the former Chief Minister reached the trail, he was given a warm welcome by PTI supporters who also chanted slogans in favour of the recently dissolved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
