ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Parliamentary Secretary for National Food Security and Research Rajab Ali Baloch Friday told National Assembly there is no chance of food shortages in next few years as the country enjoying sufficient food reserves.

During question hour in the House, he said there is no proposal under consideration of the government to introduce agricultural reforms in the country as agriculture department has transferred to the provinces after 18th amendment.

“No government had devised agricultural reforms after Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, adding that the Ministry has insufficient budget to continue research activities,” he added.

He said recently Prime Minister announced the package for farmers to streamline the agriculture sector as the government was committed to facilitate formers.

Rajab Baloch urged the provincial agricultural research institutions to work for the betterment of farmers.
