SocialMinistry earns Rs 19.267 billion during Hajj 2015

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Ministry for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has received a sum of Rs 19.267 billions from the pilgrims during the Hajj 2015.

According to a document, the Ministry earned Rs 295,260,467 profits. The amount was deposited in the Pilgrims Welfare Fund Account and spent on the welfare activities of pilgrims in Pakistan and in Saudi Arabia.

The amount was collected through ten banks including Habib Bank Limited, United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, Muslim Commercial Bank, Allied Bank Limited, Zarai Taraqiati Bank, Bank of Punjab, Meezan Bank Limited, Bank Al-Falan and Habib Metropolitan Bank.

For Hajj operation 2015, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the said banks and ministry for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
