ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Launching Ceremony of Women Alliance Pakistan (WAP), a Network of Aurat Foundation’s 50 Community Women Leaders Groups, will be held at National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the representatives of the alliance from across Pakistan will also address the Press Conference at NPC.

The Executive Council of Women Alliance Pakistan include President (Rawalpindi) Razia Sultana, Senior Vice President (Dera Ghazi Khan) Shakeela Khan, Vice President (Sibbi) Samina bibi, Vice President (Gujranwala) Surriya Manzoor, General Secretary (Sukkur) Ghazal Anjum, Joint Secretary (Jafferabad) Amna Bibi, Joint Secretary (Jhelum) Rasheeda Aziz, Information Secretary (Nawabshah) Rukhsana Kasur, Finance Secretary (Nowshera) Shaheen Akhtar, Qurat Zuberi (Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK)), and Poonam Hamza (Gilgit-Baltistan).

The event also marks the celebrations of International Women’s Day, observed annually across the World on March 8.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2019 is #BalanceForBetter, with regards to the greater global push for professional and social equality. The theme’s objective is to achieve a sense of balance in companies and elsewhere, right from the grassroots level to the boardrooms.
