Lamudi.pk celebrates its one year anniversary

LAHORE: Lamudi.pk, leading real estate classifieds player in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America, celebrated its one year anniversary, on Wednesday, where Country Director, Saad Arshed, briefed the attendees about the phenomenal success of the venture in Pakistan.

In the past year, growth in Pakistan has been extremely remarkable. The Lamudi.pk website recently hit 130,000 property listings – up from just 10,000 listings last December, making it the fastest growing and the biggest property portal of Pakistan.

Recently, Lamudi launched its property magazine by the name of “Lamudi Now” as a new branding avenue for the agents and developers to market their properties. The magazine also includes interesting property insights, local city guides, market report prepared from Lamudi’s Business Intelligence reports and a deep understanding of the global 28 property markets where it operates.

Country Director, Saad Arshed, said: “Our goal from the very beginning has been to deliver a high-quality property portal in Pakistan where searching for real estate online is a relatively new phenomenon. House-hunters here should not be underestimated; as with the growing usage of internet and the launch of 3G & 4G services they are resorting to the same procedures that are already commonplace in more established markets.

It is for this reason that we believe our product has resonated so strongly with property-seekers across Pakistan. Lamudi.pk’s success can be attributed to its innovativeness and the fact it quickly adapts to the changing trends of the consumers. We expect Lamudi’s accelerated growth to continue for the remainder of 2014, and beyond.”

Other milestones which the property website achieved are the launch of both Android and iOS apps during 2014, which have been downloaded about 90,000 times since June. Adding onto these, Lamudi has also signed more than 1000 real estate agencies across Pakistan and has opened 8 offices in major cities, all over the country.

In addition, Lamudi has been active in several Expo’s during the past one year such as the Property & Real Estate Expo, Dawn Lifestyle Expo, ITCN Asia’14 and the Association of Builders & Developers Expo where it was the official bronze sponsor.

Lastly, Lamudi Pakistan has conducted several “Real Estate Agents Empowerment Programs” in different cities to enlighten the brokers and developers about the changing online property space, effectiveness of social media and tutorials on uploading quality property listings to convert into effective leads.
