KARACHI: Showing solidarity with the tragic incident of the Timber market inferno, K-Electric (KE) has announced relief by waiving off the outstanding dues of the residential and commercial affectees of the Timber Market.

Also, KE has announced that until the construction work is complete, KE will provide free electricity for the construction work in order to facilitate the affected people under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

The announcement was made by KE delegation headed by Chairman KE during a meeting with Governor Sindh who appreciated KE’s role in supporting the affectees of Timber Market incident. KE has made this announcement as a positive gesture since the company strongly believes in rebuilding Karachi.

“Our heart goes out to the families that suffered huge losses in the wake of this inferno. A waiver of dues for the residents and shop owners of Timber Market is just a small token of support for these victims,” the KE spokesman said.

In the past, KE under its CSR program had adopted the same mechanism to express solidarity with the affected families of the Baldia Factory fire, the affected families of Abbas Town and Bolton Market. These efforts were also lauded by the Governor Sindh.

KE has been taking active steps in order to give back to the community in every possible way. This includes providing free electricity to a number of hospitals, NGOs, Charitable Organisations and educational institutes.
