JI naib ameer Karachi drowns in river KunharBALAKOT: The naib ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Nasrullah Shaji drowned in river Kunhar near Balakot on Monday while trying to rescue a student who fell into the river.

Nasrullah was the principal of a private school in Karachi and he had brought the students to Balakot on a study tour.

The sources said that the student Asim Sufyan was performing ablution for prayers when he slipped into the river after which Nasrullah dived to save him but both of them drowned.

The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak expressed deep grief and sorrow over the incident and sympathized with the bereaved family.
