ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan would inaugurate ‘one window operation’ of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) office on Friday.
The one window operation that would ease the process for license seekers would be operational after its formal inauguration.
The new system would enable citizens to deposit bank fee, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) verification, data entry and medical certification services on the same counter to get driving licenses.
The improved facility would have total 12 counters, amongst two specified for medical tests. The biometrics system would help license forms get filled up within few seconds.
Further two counters have also been specified to facilitate women and senior citizens.
ITP office was dealing about 400 driving license application daily and the new one window operation would help in ending long queues, besides swiftly processing applicants.
In present system one had to come across ten steps to attain a driving license, but the new system would contain only three steps including queues management system (QMS), One Window and Driving Test Board.
