ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Haier Group signed an agreement under the prime minister youth laptop scheme in Islamabad on Monday.
Under the agreement, Haier will manufacture 100,000 laptops which will be distributed among postgraduate students across the country on merit basis.
The advisor to prime minister youth scheme MNA Leila Khan after signing the agreement said the scheme will help boost economy and promote new era of technology. She said that the PM’s initiative will create new job opportunities for youth.
The Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said that the HEC will introduce software license policy for the scheme.
