ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR) has announced to establish four new shelter homes for women and children in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) soon to ensure conducive environment for persons of less resources.

The ministry has also chalked out a country wide project of establishing Human Rights committees in every district with the involvement of local administration, politicians, security agencies and other concerned departments.

The committees office would be set up in the office of district administration while the political representatives have also offered their places for this purpose, official sources told the state-run news agency.

They said people would be apprised with the functions and services of such committee through banners, pamphlets and other public campaigns so that maximum people can approach for redressal of their grievances.

The prime objective of the ministry is to check human rights violations in the country and proper implementation of the existing laws for benefit of the people at grass root level.

A toll free helpline 1099 is already working in the capital through which anyone across the country can get free legal assistance, they said.
