LAHORE, Pakistan: One of the major Islamic festivals, Eid-ul-Azha, is approaching fast and all the faithful have started preparations including buying of sacrificial animals for the event.

While men are heading towards animal markets, especially set up for sale and purchase of sacrificial animals, women are visiting markets to buy dresses and other items for themselves and other family members.

According to women, the prices of clothes are high and it had become difficult for them to buy new cloths for children on this auspicious occasion.

Samina Saeed, a woman busy in shopping at Ichhra Bazaar, told this scribe that she buys cloths only on both Eids but this time, prices are very high for a common buyer.

“As you know weather is changing and shopping cloths has become very difficult job due to selection options,” she added.

Sajid Ali, a shopkeeper said that prices are high due to manufacturers, adding that retailers are bound to purchase cloths on high rates.

Eid preparations are expected to continue till Friday, (September 1) which would be the last night before Eid day.
